Rebecca Lappa & The Revelry

 
 

Based out of Edmonton, the Revelry provide a folk rock soundscape to Rebecca’s emotional storytelling, heartfelt lyrics and powerful vocals. The group formed in 2016 while attending MacEwan University’s Music program. Rebecca and the Revelry have performed over 150 shows together and have no intention of slowing down.  They have opened for Pistol Whips, Leeroy Stagger, Jenn Grant, Common Deer and Sam Tudor.  In the last 2 years, Lappa has toured extensively as a duo or with her band across Canada:  

Prairie Express Tour (SK/AB) in June/17

Spirit of Adventure Tour (SK/MB/ON) in Feb-May/18

Off The Rails Tour/Via Rail Artist on Board (ON/QC) in July/18

Chasing The Sun Tour (AB/BC) in Aug/18.

Her fearless fusion of folk, rock and pop earned her three 2019 Edmonton Music Awards nominations and has her cresting the wave of Canada’s best contemporary singer songwriters. Touring across Canada since the release of her Factor funded JSR full length record “Reckless Heart”she’s entranced audiences at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Calgary Folk Fest, Canmore Folk Fest, and the Ottawa Blues Festival and many more. Lappa is honoured to have shared the stage with the likes of: The Crash Test Dummies, Jenn Grant, Digging Roots, Reignwolf, Basia Bulat, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Mike Plume, Maria Dunn, Common Deer and Leeroy Stagger.  Thissummer,she is excited to perform at the Beaumont Blues Festival, Whitecourt Music Festival, Taste of Calgary, Mardigras Festival, Edmonton Rock Festival, and headline City of Edmonton’s YEG Youth Music Festival. Working with manager Mandy Wheelwright, Lappa is eager to use an Edmonton Arts Council grant to record her most personal songs to date with producer Leeroy Stagger.

 In the past few years, Lappa has demonstrated that she is a star on the rise. In 2018, she was a Top 10 finalist in the My United Way Voice contest, chosen as Top 100 in the 2018 CBC Searchlight, received The Bell Media Prize to attend Canada's Music Incubator in Toronto. Lappa’s amazing year continued as she was selected for the EPL Capital City Records, showcased at the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities in Fredericton, and won 1st place in the Ship and Anchor Song Contest. Her prowess as a songwriter helped her received an Honourable Mention in the 2018 Canadian Songwriting Competition. And to top it all off Lappa performed at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival for the second time, and showcased for the second time at the Arts Touring Alliance of Alberta. In 2018, Lappa also released her single “Poison Rose”with Radar Love Records.
